Jeff Carr
President
As President of Griffin Communications Group, Jeff leads the agency’s day-to-day operations in support of all client accounts – including strategic planning, client and team counsel, and campaign execution. He joined the firm in 2010 to drive the development of an international aerospace practice, overseeing the planning and execution of strategic communications programs and projects for key industry clients such as Boeing’s “Starliner” Commercial Crew Program, Virgin Galactic, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Orbital ATK, Inspiration Mars Foundation and CASIS.
Jeff has more than 37 years of government and corporate communications and public relations experience in the space industry – 22 of which were spent in key management roles, engineering a wide spectrum of strategic communications resources and programs.
Prior to joining Griffin, he spent 13 years as Director of Communications and Public Relations at United Space Alliance, where he acted as a key spokesman and managed the company’s brand identity and reputation through strategic communications, including media relations, community relations, customer relations, state and local government relations, marketing communications and advertising.
Jeff held several positions during his NASA career, including Director of Public Affairs, News Chief at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, and Special Assistant to the NASA Administrator, providing critical transition support and lending insight to key issues and activities for NASA during the early months of the Clinton Administration. He also served as press liaison for the Astronaut Corps and as the “Voice of Mission Control” for more than 40 Space Shuttle missions. Jeff holds three Telly Awards for national achievement in media production.
Jeff serves on the board of directors of the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership and on the board of advisors for the Rotary National Award for Space Achievement (RNASA) Foundation. Jeff works from the Houston, TX headquarters office of Griffin.
